Join Our Clinical Negligence Team as a Grade C Solicitor (or Equivalent)

We are seeking a NQ‑Grade C Solicitor or equivalent to join our dynamic and supportive team, where your expertise will make a real difference. As a Grade C Solicitor you will support Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from inception through to trial. Working under supervision and in accordance with company policies and legal standards, you will take on delegated tasks, assist in settling cases, mentor and coach junior members, and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Main Responsibilities for the role

  • Run an individual caseload
  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
  • Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
  • Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
  • Maintain effective and thorough time recording

Responsible For

  • Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
  • Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
  • Work with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression
  • Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Coordinate the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
  • Draft legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
  • Negotiate settlements and issue and serve proceedings if required
  • Litigate claims as required
  • Oversee the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advise the team on technical issues arising from their cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Recent experience of handling a caseload
  • At least 5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client‑care skills
