Civil Enforcement Officer – (Ref: CEO)

We are looking for hard‑working and dedicated people to help keep Broxbourne’s streets safe by joining our team of Civil Enforcement Officers. The role focuses on child safety near schools, allowing emergency vehicles unrestricted access, and improving disabled bay access and local facilities for less mobile residents. Officers enforce parking regulations, provide guidance, and manage both on‑street and off‑street contraventions, as well as the council’s pay and display car parks.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping children safe near schools and ensuring emergency vehicles have unrestricted access.
  • Improving access to disabled bays and local facilities for less mobile residents.
  • Enforcing drivers comply with parking regulations while providing guidance.
  • Managing on‑street and off‑street parking contraventions.
  • Running council pay and display car parks and on‑street pay and display areas.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer care skills and strong people skills, including handling challenging situations.
  • Good team player with basic computer skills.
  • Prepared to work in all weather conditions on a flexible rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Manual driving licence required.
  • Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English.
