School Business Officer

HCAT Wheeler Primary School

Grade 4 (points 5-7)

Full‑time equivalent salary: £25,583 – £26,403

Actual starting salary: £18,808.79

Term‑time only (37 hours per week)

Start date: Monday 7th September

We are seeking an organised and self‑motivated School Business Officer with strong administrative skills and experience in a busy office environment. The role involves working closely with the leadership team, staff, parents and pupils, and requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be professional, detail‑oriented and an excellent communicator, playing a key role in managing reception duties, handling calls and emails, and sourcing and ordering school supplies.

Hours: Monday‑Thursday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day reception duties.
  • Handle school telephone calls and email correspondence.
  • Source and order school supplies.
  • Support staff, parents and pupils in a busy office environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
