Health & Safety Manager
Salary: £60,000 + Package
Location: Cannock
Reporting To: Managing Director / Operations Director
About the Role
We are a medium‑sized main contractor specialising in industrial refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of our health and safety function and provide strong leadership across multiple projects.
This role is suited to a confident and proactive professional who can hit the ground running, work independently, and support operational teams in maintaining the highest standards of health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s health and safety systems and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Advise project teams on legal requirements, risk management, and best practice.
- Review and approve RAMS and other safety documentation.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, training, and safety briefings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Support client audits, accreditations, and pre‑qualification submissions.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
Requirements
- Proven Health & Safety management experience within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a main contractor, ideally within industrial refurbishment or industrial construction environments.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Ability to influence site teams and drive compliance across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement)
- Membership of IOSH (preferred)
