Care Assistant – Richmond Village, Aston‑on‑Trent, Derby, DE72 2EA. Salary: £13.10 per hour. Contract: Permanent (Full Time & Part Time). Weekends on rota.

Job Area: Care Home – Care Assistants. Time Type: Full time.

Shift Patterns

Flexible shift patterns available: 7:00 am–7:00 pm, 7:00 am–1:00 pm, 7:00 am–11:00 am, 1:00 pm–7:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting residents with a high standard of clinical, social and emotional care. Recognising and meeting the specific needs of residents.
  • Answer emergency bells or calls from residents, assess the situation, provide help and summon senior care staff when necessary.
  • Assist residents who need help with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, washing, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene as documented in their care plan.
  • Help residents with mobility problems, including transferring using appropriate equipment and caring for aids and personal equipment.
  • Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
  • Be part of a team supporting the senior care assistant in monitoring residents and reporting changes.
  • Communicate with residents’ families, friends and other healthcare professionals.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost (£40).

Qualifications & Requirements

Completed DBS check required. Experience in providing care to older adults is an advantage.
