Job Summary

Oral and Maxillofacial Department is looking for a part‑time 15hrs per week support secretary. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a busy but friendly department. We are seeking someone who can learn quickly and follow instructions as necessary. If you have typing experience and a personable telephone manner, we invite you to apply.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

The main duties of the role are typing clinical letters and correspondence, booking appointments, and liaising with patients on the telephone regarding appointments. A friendly and confident telephone manner is required.

Qualifications

  • Good general education (e.g., GCSE English and Maths A‑C) GCSE Level 9–4
  • Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment

Desirable Qualifications

  • AMSPAR Certificate/equivalent qualification or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology

Experience

  • Experience of dealing with the public/customer service experience
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of using IT systems

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in a busy environment
  • Experience of working in healthcare
