Overview

We require an experienced Medical Secretary to provide professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial services to Consultants and their teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial support to Consultants, including appointment scheduling, patient communication, and briefing.
  • Type audio transcription accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Support clinical and administrative workflows, including NHS waiting times and systems.
  • Operate independently or collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven secretarial and administrative experience.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Competent audio typist with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of NHS waiting times required; knowledge of NHS systems an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English language communication required.
  • Flexible and motivated individual capable of independent or team work.
  • Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before appointment.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK; eligible for sponsorship before applying.
