Role Overview: Alcedo Care is recruiting a Female Complex Care Assistant to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a client living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) who requires 24‑hour ventilator support, tracheostomy care, enteral feeding support, and assistance with daily living activities in their home.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing person‑centred complex care within the client’s home
- Tracheostomy care and airway management
- Ventilator monitoring and respiratory support
- Supporting PEG feeding and hydration requirements
- Medication support and clinical observations
- Personal care, mobility assistance, and daily living support
- Supporting communication through specialist assistive technology
- Promoting independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing at all times
- Working as part of a dedicated care team to build a consistent and trusting relationship with the client and their family
Full Specialist Training Provided
You will receive comprehensive nurse‑led training, competency sign‑off, and ongoing support from our in‑house Registered Nurses and clinical team.
Specialist skills you will develop:
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilator management
- Airway clearance and respiratory support
- PEG feeding and nutrition support
- Complex moving and handling
- Clinical observations and escalation
- Communication support for individuals with complex needs
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 6 months’ hands‑on care experience in a UK care setting or supporting a family member
- Confidence supporting individuals with complex care needs
- Previous tracheostomy or ventilator experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- A compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
- A commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality person‑centred care
