Home Visits Optical Assistant

If you love your job but are a bit bored and want to bring eye care services directly to people’s homes across the Isle of Wight, this role might be for you.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver eye care services to patients in their homes across Worthing, Brighton, and Eastbourne.
• Measure, fit, dispense lenses, and provide clinical care and advice to patients.
• Supervise and manage optical duties, ensuring accurate dispensing at all levels.
• Use computer systems to record patient details, schedule visits, and manage inventory.
• Work independently and manage time effectively, maintaining a full patient book.

Required qualifications

• Current or recent optical experience of at least 6 months to 1 year.
• Senior/supervisory or management experience within optics.
• Full UK driving licence and confident driving ability.
• Based in the Isle of Wight.
• Computer literate and able to work independently.

Desirable skills

• Previous experience in a fast‑paced customer service environment.
• Experience in optics.

Working hours

Full time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm (some flexibility required).
