Radiology Assistant, Breast Imaging

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust – closing date: 05 July 2026.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individual to join our Breast Imaging team. The role is for 22.5 hours, predominantly based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, with occasional support for the community courier role, taking essential equipment to mobile screening units.

Shift pattern: flexible over 6 days (Monday to Saturday) between 08:30 hrs and 16:30 hrs, and 09:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs.

You will be part of a large clinical team, supporting patients undergoing breast diagnostics. Duties include assisting with patient care before, during and after imaging examinations; cleaning scan rooms; stock control and replenishment; supporting the specimen checking process; and courier duties.

This position is restricted to female applicants only under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to a Genuine Occupational Requirement.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Main duties of the job

The role involves assisting patients with procedures, chaperoning clinical staff, supporting patients through procedures, ensuring biopsy specimens are checked and taken to their collection point, ordering supplies and undertaking stock checks, upholding patient confidentiality, and demonstrating compassion.

Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and tidy environment in accordance with Trust infection control standards, performing data entry under clinical staff guidance, and, where required, supporting the courier role. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are necessary.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this post. Please note that an international driving licence is not accepted.
