Main duties of the job

  • Prepare, process, and manage all patient referrals through the NHS e-Referrals Service (e-RS) and other pathways.
  • Provide accurate secretarial and administrative support to GPs and clinicians.
  • Liaise with hospitals, consultants, and external healthcare providers to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and data protection.
  • Add invoices and receipts to a Monday.com platform.
  • Prepare clinical reports.
  • Prepare SARs and insurance reports.

Experience and Skills

  • S1 Experience.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Secretary, including knowledge of choose and book, routine and urgent referrals, and medical notes.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to manage a heavy workload.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills, able to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills are essential.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.
  • Use own initiative.
