An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Workerposition within our Older People’s acute services to support our service userswith all aspects of their care including activities and personal care.
Main duties of the job
This role focuses on the direct needs of service users by delivering individual treatment plans across boundaries of care.
Job responsibilities
To provide support, give time to service users within the unit and the community and thus promote recovery. To provide holistic care, taking into account psychosocial and physical healthcare needs of the service user group.
To assist Care Co-ordinator or key worker and service user to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans and undertake other assessments as required.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience of working with people with Mental Health problems
- An interest in and commitment to on‑going personal/professional development
Knowledge
- Basic IT knowledge
- A basic knowledge/understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Use of SystmOne
Qualifications
- NVQ Level III or Certificate in Community Mental Health, or a willingness to undertake this, or an equivalent level of experience
Additional Criteria
- Ability to respond to the individual rights/needs/opinions of service users
- Ability to maintain a safe environment for service users/ carers/staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility required to meet service needs
