Program Overview
Student Pharmacy Technicians will undertake the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practise of Pharmacy Technicians. Upon successful completion within two academic years, they will automatically transition to Pharmacy Technicians at Band 4 pay scale and adopt the standard Pharmacy Technician job description and contract.
Recruitment notes:
- Applicants who have already completed the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice of Pharmacy Technicians (or a recognised equivalent qualification) will not be shortlisted.
- Those recruited as Student Pharmacy Technicians will be paid at Band 4 according to NHS AFC guidelines: 70% of the top of the Band 4 scale in year one and 75% in year two of the course.
- Current NHS employees in Band 2 or 3 will be paid based on their years of experience, at an equivalent Band.
