Mid HampshireHealthcare (MHH) is looking for a caring, compassionate, and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our growing clinical team supporting the delivery of Long‑Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) services across Wokingham.

Main duties of the job
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll support the delivery of MHH’s LARC service by:
- Supporting clinicians during contraceptive implant and intrauterine device (IUD/IUS) clinics.
- Preparing clinical rooms, equipment, and supplies for consultations and procedures.
- Undertaking delegated clinical duties within your training and competencies.
- Recording patient observations and supporting patient assessments where appropriate.
- Chaperoning patients during consultations and procedures.
- Supporting patients before, during, and following clinical procedures.
- Providing a professional, welcoming, and compassionate service to patients.
- Assisting with clinic administration, patient registration, appointment management, and record keeping.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using EMIS and other digital systems.
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring clinical areas remain clean, safe, and fully equipped.
- Supporting health promotion and patient education activities.
- Contributing to service improvement, quality assurance, and clinical governance activities.

Job responsibilities
The role will include preparing clinical environments for patient consultations and procedures, supporting clinicians during LARC fittings and removals, undertaking delegated clinical duties within agreed competencies, assisting with patient observations and health assessments, maintaining clinical equipment and stock levels, and contributing to the effective coordination of patient care.
The Healthcare Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that clinical areas are appropriately prepared and maintained, infection prevention and control standards are adhered to, and accurate clinical records are maintained in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
As part of a developing community‑based women’s health service, the postholder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, supporting service delivery across multiple clinic locations where required. The role may also involve supporting additional Mid Hampshire Healthcare services in line with organisational needs and the individual’s training and competencies.

Qualifications
- Healthcare Assistant qualification and/or relevant clinical experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and information governance requirements.

- Ability to travel between clinic locations across Wokingham.
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient‑centred care.
- Experience working within women’s health, sexual health, primary care, or community healthcare services.
- Experience undertaking observations and basic clinical assessments.
- Experience using EMIS clinical systems.
- Chaperone training.
- Experience supporting minor procedures or clinical interventions.
