Responsibilities
- Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either working with a colleague or independently.
- Assist in the transportation of end‑of‑life patients and ensure empathy is maintained at all times.
- Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives or friends.
- Lift, secure and help patients in and out of the ambulance.
- Assist with handing over patients to appropriate staff at treatment centres or hospitals, or to family or friends at home.
- Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar between hospital and other medical settings.
- Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.
Qualifications
- Valid UK manual driving licence (minimum 6 points).
- Flexible availability for shifts between 05:30am and 00:00am, Monday to Sunday.
- Experience in care (e.g., HCA, support worker) is advantageous.
- Commitment to patient care and an effective, empathetic communicator.
- Physically fit for patient handling and moving.
- Pass an enhanced DBS check (company funded).
- Strong team‑working and collaboration skills.
