Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Venturers’ Academy, Bristol
Venturers Academy seeks a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (Level 5/6) to join our specialist team. Working within a supportive, multi‑disciplinary environment, you will play a vital role in enabling children and young people with a range of complex needs to access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the occupational therapy needs of pupils with a range of complex learning, physical, sensory, and developmental needs.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized intervention programmes to support pupils’ access to learning and daily living skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies within the classroom and wider school environment.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, and training to staff and parents/carers to ensure consistency of approach.
- Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including setting outcomes and reviewing progress.
Pay range
- NJC 36-40 – £44,689.07 – £48,643.57
- FTE – £47,181.00 – £51,356.00
- 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience of working with children and young people, ideally within a school or specialist education setting.
- Knowledge of a range of complex needs, including autism, sensory processing differences, physical disabilities, and developmental delays.
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective, individualized therapy interventions.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
