Behaviour Support Worker
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract Type: Fixed Term (until 31/08/2027)
Working Hours: 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only)
Working Pattern: 8:45am – 3:15pm Monday to Friday
A Day in the Life
- Implementing whole‑school behaviour policies and procedures, providing direct support with managing challenging behaviour.
- Providing targeted interventions for pupils with behavioural difficulties, offering both one‑to‑one and small group support.
- Liaising with senior leaders, class teachers, and parents regarding pupil behaviour and progress.
- Promoting restorative approaches to conflict resolution while fostering pupils’ personal and social growth.
- Supervising and supporting pupils who may be isolated from lessons, ensuring they safely complete the work provided by teaching staff.
- Maintaining highly accurate records and reports on behaviour incidents and interventions.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
- The ability to demonstrate a range of effective behaviour strategies and confidently support the inclusion of pupils with emotional, behavioural or SEMH needs in a mainstream setting.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships and interact positively with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- A strong working knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and inclusion policies.
