Terms and Conditions

This role is term time; gross annual salary advertised will be reduced proportionally based on the number of weeks worked during the academic year. Term time employees are contracted to work 38 weeks per year. The full time equivalent for this position is 37 hours; roles advertised with contracted hours less than 37 will be considered part time. The gross annual salary advertised will be reduced based on the part time hours.

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students with additional needs to grow in confidence, independence and achievement? Join University College Isle of Man (UCM) as an Education Support Officer and play an active role in helping students with moderate learning difficulties, disabilities and autism access education and thrive.

Working closely with the Wellbeing Team and teaching staff, you’ll support students with a range of social, emotional, behavioural, physical and sensory needs – providing tailored support, encouraging independence and at times delivering a high level of personal and medical care to meet individual needs.

Whether supporting learning in the classroom, contributing to individual education plans, or helping students build essential life skills, you’ll make a meaningful impact every day across our diverse and dynamic college community.

Key responsibilities

  • Support students with a range of social, emotional, behavioural, physical and sensory needs
  • Provide tailored support and encourage independence
  • Deliver a high level of personal and medical care to meet individual needs
  • Support learning in the classroom
  • Contribute to individual education plans
  • Help students build essential life skills

Qualifications and requirements

An enhanced with barring police check is required for this post; the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government. Please note a relocation package is not available for this role.
