Full time or part time positions available with rotating 2‑week shifts. Candidates must be flexible to work alternate weekends or one day each weekend.
Hours of Work
- Morning & Lunch: 07:00 – 14:00
- Tea & Evening: 16:00 – 22:00
- Full Day: 07:00 – 14:00 and 16:00 – 22:00
Role Overview
As a Home Care Assistant with Care 24‑7 you will attend clients’ homes to provide personal and intimate care and support. You will work in a professional, kind, and caring manner, demonstrating good communication skills with clients, relatives, colleagues and other professionals.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care: getting up, washed & dressed; getting ready for bed; baths & showers; using the toilet; hair, nail, makeup, shaving and oral care; medication support; catheter care; meal preparation and eating
- Support clients to participate in daily activities: companionship on social activities and outings; crafts, reading and writing; shopping and collecting prescriptions; collecting pensions and benefits; paying bills; laundry and ironing; light housework duties
- Follow Care 24‑7 policies and legal requirements (CQC, Health & Safety at Work Act); report any concerns to managers/supervisors
- Build trusting relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
- Maintain a safe working environment. Report any incidents immediately
- Record care tasks and complete simple statistical information using the Mobile Phone Care Planner app
- Commit to learning and development, attending training and supervision sessions as required
- Keep accurate timekeeping and attendance records
Qualifications & Skills
- Compassionate, friendly approach with empathy and respect for client dignity
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; can update confidential records
- Ability to build rapport with clients and wider teams
- Proactive in attending and completing ongoing training, including online modules and practical equipment training
- Ability to attend ad‑hoc and quarterly supervision and guidance sessions
- Confidential and sensitive handling of personal information
- Strong decision‑making skills, prioritising client safety and needs
- Honest reporting of concerns in line with company policy
- Use of personal protective equipment
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
