Mechanical Assembler

Job Overview

Position: Mechanical Assembler (Permanent) – Trafford/South Manchester area.

Salary: £25,000 per annum (4 day week, Monday to Thursday). Working 9.25 hours per day with flexible start times (06:00, 06:30, or 07:00).

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands‑on mechanical assembly and production tasks as directed.
• Support day‑to‑day manufacturing operations across the workshop and assembly areas.
• Assemble a range of mechanical parts, sub-assemblies, and components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Inspect and verify finished mechanical assemblies following company quality procedures.
• Work safely and maintain an organised, well‑kept workstation in accordance with quality and H&S standards.
• Meet agreed production targets and mechanical build deadlines.
• Report and record any equipment faults, tooling issues, or maintenance requirements.
• Identify, log, and report scrap or non‑conforming components in line with company procedures.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical ability, comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Hands‑on experience in a mechanical manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
• Strong attention to detail when assembling mechanical components and checking tolerances.
• Confidence working from procedures, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with the Operations Manager and wider engineering team.
