Roadside Rescue Mechanic
As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll go the extra mile for our members. Anything can happen while driving, but we are the AA and we get everyone back on the road safely so the show can go on. What will I be doing?
- Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
- Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
- Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
- Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.
What do I need?
- NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
- It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
- Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
Earnings
Guaranteed year 1 earnings of £40,270 inclusive of allowances with OTE up to £60,000 based on top performers.
Guaranteed year 1 earnings include applicable location allowance and a £2,000 sign‑on bonus in eligible locations. OTE includes standby hours payment, performance incentive and overtime earnings and is dependent on performance and hours worked.
