Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Flat Pack Fitter role based in London. The Flat Pack Fitter will assemble a wide variety of flat pack furniture for residential and commercial clients, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient builds. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting assembly instructions, transporting components within customer premises, performing basic measurements and adjustments, and checking completed work for stability and finish quality. The role also involves installing and integrating accessories and smart devices where required, supporting design-and-build or “hack” solutions, and keeping work areas tidy.

The Flat Pack Fitter will interact directly with customers, provide clear updates on progress, report any issues or missing parts, and represent Flat Pack Help™ in a professional, courteous manner.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in furniture assembly, use of hand and power tools, and basic DIY or handyman capabilities.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, diagrams, and measurements with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good customer service and communication skills, with a professional and respectful approach in clients’ homes and workplaces.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and assemble furniture safely, including bending, standing, and handling larger items as needed.
  • Experience with flat pack systems (e.g., IKEA or similar) and interest in custom solutions, hacks, or smart device integration is beneficial.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and complete jobs to agreed deadlines.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and reliable travel to jobs across Belfast, London or Manchester is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in furniture assembly, maintenance, carpentry, or a related trade is preferred but not strictly required for highly capable learners.
