Overview
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Graduate Research Assistant or Post-Doctoral Research Associate with strong interest in Circular Economy, Robotics, AI and vision systems, sustainability, remanufacturing and recycling. The role works on an exciting project that develops a whole-system circular approach to the design, use and end‑of‑life management of industrial robots.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key responsibilities:
- Develop a circular economy framework for disassembly, refurbishment, remanufacturing or material recycling of end‑of‑life industrial robots.
- Support AI‑based life‑cycle assessment (LCA) and life‑cycle costing (LCC) model development.
- Collaborate closely with the project’s research team and an integrated academic and industrial project team.
- Contribute to the dissemination of project findings.
Qualifications:
- BSc, MSc or PhD (or equivalent) in mechanical, manufacturing, electronic, robotic control engineering or any relevant discipline.
- Strong interest and knowledge in circular economy principles, robotics and AI.
- Experience in life‑cycle assessment or life‑cycle costing is desirable.
