Machine Operator
Temp‑perm
£16.52 per hour (£32,214 per annum)
My client, a leading engineering company based close to Basingstoke, is looking to recruit a Machine Operator on a temp‑perm basis – typically you will work for 3 months and then join my client on a permanent basis. The client has recently moved premises and has a very impressive manufacturing facility which includes air conditioning.
The role will work on a double dayshift, working 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 which will rotate weekly.
Ideally candidates will have a background within engineering/manufacturing and be familiar with general engineering practices, machinery, and measuring equipment.
Candidates must be able to start immediately or a maximum of one week after successful interview and offer to start – please only apply if you are available immediately or within one week of an offer. We will hold a short interview on the client’s site in Basingstoke.
Duties to include:
- Operate foam process/moulding machines to produce moulded products.
- Adjust shot times to suit size and weight of product.
- Work to drawings and work instructions.
- Perform safe and efficient machine maintenance.
- Self‑inspection – check quality of moulded products and check for moulding faults.
- Complete and understand relevant documentation.
- Ensure good housekeeping – maintain a tidy workstation.
- Efficient trimming of polymer flashing from machined product.
- Assembly of parts and kits.
- Packing/boxing of products ready for distribution.
Hours of work are 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 which will rotate weekly.
