Scope Of Role
- To build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOP’s and CMM’s
- To inspect and test finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
- To upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
- To maintain equipment and tooling used in the assembly process.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
- Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and/or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
- Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers and verniers.
- Assemble and test components and systems according to specifications, ensuring they meet quality standards and function properly.
- Conduct tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
- Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
- Complete all relevant documentation.
- Provide information or assistance to customers, suppliers and visitors within the group, and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and 6S activities that affect quality or output.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when provided.
- Carry out all activities in a timely manner to meet manufacturing targets.
- Support ad hoc duties, including training colleagues, department tasks and brief secondments to other departments.
- Play a key role in cross‑training within the department to reduce single points of failure highlighted by the Line leader.
Other Responsibilities / Non‑essential Functions
- Undertake training that is a requirement of the role as identified by the Line Leader.
- Undertake all other reasonable requests made by the Section Manager / Production Manager.
- Provide support outside of normal tasks when department staff attendance is reduced, to ensure customer satisfaction.
Professional Knowledge & Experience
- Able to read and understand drawings, CMMs and SOPs.
- Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
- Read, write and understand English.
- Knowledge of tools including circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, Swiss files, etc.
- Soldering skills on small components.
- Skills on the use of machines, lathes, drills, etc.
- Desirable brazing experience.
- Previous experience in a production environment, assembling a wide range of electro/mechanical products.
- Experience assembling small components, such as model kits or other small‑component assemblies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Methodical and logical approach.
- Good time‑management skills.
- Able to communicate at all levels.
- Team‑player mindset.
- Self‑motivated and professional.
- Handles pressure well.
