Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry materials according to specifications and blueprints
- Construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using masonry techniques
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks as needed
- Install rebar for reinforcement in concrete structures
- Execute hardscape projects such as patios and walkways
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate construction
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on‑site, including carpenters and roofers
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in estimating materials required for projects
Skills
- Proficient in masonry techniques including bricklaying, plastering, stucco application, and tile laying
- Experience with heavy equipment operation related to construction tasks
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices
- Familiarity with renovation processes and restoration techniques
- Ability to perform carpentry tasks such as frame carpentry and trim carpentry
- Skilled in caulking and metal stud framing
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on construction sites
- Strong physical stamina to handle the demands of the job
