Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly advanced fabrication facility delivering end-to-end projects, from initial CAD design through to full-scale manufacturing.
This role is ideal for a skilled and detail oriented Machine Setter / Operator with experience in sheet metal fabrication, looking to work in a fast paced, high quality production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a range of sheet metal fabrication machinery, including laser cutters, press brakes, panel benders and punch presses.
- Set up and adjust machinery in line with job specifications and technical drawings.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and basic servicing.
- Report faults, breakdowns, or process issues promptly to supervision.
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
- Identify, report, and help control defects.
- Collaborate closely with the wider manufacturing team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and performance, maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Undertake additional duties as required.

- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures to ensure personal and team safety.
- Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Minimise environmental impact in all work activities, take ownership of tasks to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
Education
- GCSE level or equivalent.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Machine Setter / Operator, ideally within a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Experience operating laser cutting machines, press brakes, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
- Strong understanding of metal cutting processes and tolerances.
- Knowledge of machine setup, operation and basic troubleshooting.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality, proactive, “can-do” attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills at all levels.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
