Wood Machinist
Location: Arbor Forest, New Holland

Shift Pattern: 2 Rotating Shifts
Salary: £17.47 – £19.58 per hour (depending on experience)
Arbor Forest is looking for an experienced and motivated Wood Machinist to join our production sawmill team at our New Holland site. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced wood machinist offering competitive pay, structured rotating shifts, and the chance to work with industry-leading woodworking machinery in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Leadermac 4200 and Waco moulders, including infeed and outfeed accelerator units.
- Configure moulders to the production schedule using the moulder operating system.
- Carry out daily cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery.
- Report maintenance issues using the T-card system.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specification and achieve the highest finish.
- Complete and sign off quality documentation and production records.
- Prepare process sheets and select the correct pack tickets.
- Support and oversee the wrapping process, ensuring correct machine settings and product bundling.
- Troubleshoot moulders and associated handling equipment.
- Follow all risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and health and safety requirements.
- Work to achieve daily production targets.
Essential Skills
- Good general education.
- Experience operating woodworking machinery (training on specific equipment can be provided).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
