Welder/Fabricator

Overview

Proactive Personnel Ltd is recruiting an experienced Fabricator/Welder for a client based in Alfreton. An immediate start is available.

The role involves steel/secondary steelwork and general structural steelwork, such as handrails, balustrades, mezzanine floors and chimneys.

Responsibilities

• Work from supplied assembly drawings to complete fabrication of projects varying in complexity.
• Measure and mark out plates and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling, using workshop tools, plant and machinery.
• Work with carbon steel (3mm to 50mm) and stainless steel (3mm and above).
• Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output.
• Meet production timings.
• Follow company rules and adhere to procedures & Health and Safety standards.
• Work as part of a team to produce orders on time and within customer expectations and quality requirements.
• Carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks.
• Ensure correct marking up of component parts.
• Demonstrate previous welding experience via current or lapsed codings, with varying positions desirable.
• Exhibit a good work ethic and attitude.

Schedule & Pay

Day shift, Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday. 39-hour paid work. Overtime may be required to keep pace with the full order book. Pay is negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications. To achieve the higher rate of pay, the candidate must be able to demonstrate competence in all aspects of the job role.
