About the role

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is looking for a Tool Hire Assistant to ensure customers receive safe, well‑maintained equipment and excellent service. The role requires driving a 3.5‑tonne van to deliver and collect orders. A full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a full‑time role Monday‑Friday 07:00‑16:30 or 7:30‑17:00, with the requirement of working every other Saturday 08:00‑12:00.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver day‑to‑day tool hire activities, deploying resources to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations.
  • Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro‑active cross‑selling.
  • Deliver and collect customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring orders are accurate and all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safely in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire products.
  • Conduct pre‑delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational.
  • Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping.
  • Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment).
