Job Description
Estimators – including Senior Estimators – across Infrastructure sectors (Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water or Utilities) will be employed at Turner & Townsend offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, with the possibility of working remotely from the UK.
Our team delivers a wide range of estimating outputs: estimate production (from order of magnitude to detailed estimates), estimating assurance, estimating support to major programme set up, and estimating data. Estimators act as embedded resources for clients or provide ad‑hoc work across infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans in a timely and efficient manner.
- Control and manage the estimating process at project level.
- Produce estimates independently, without supervision.
- Support development and promotion of estimating best practice within Turner & Townsend.
- Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
- Stay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to provide best practice advice in line with business objectives.
- Adhere to any SOX control responsibilities that apply to the role.
Qualifications
- High‑standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
- Successful experience providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
- Experience using estimating software packages.
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working toward it; desirable membership of RICS, CIOB or Cost E.
