Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST)

Salary: £41,325 Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment)
A highly sought after role is available for an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST) to join our company and work with a major UK supermarket client. This key position involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations. You will be the first line in all maintenance issues throughout your allocated sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times. Complete all necessary PPMs and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
- Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job to carry out repairs as and where necessary.
- Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
- Advise the onsite customer (manager) of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the site.
- Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
- Work with company and customer employees to ensure laid‑down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
- Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance on trained Food Services assets (catering and bakery equipment).
- Comply with the BER policy and guidelines on managing catering and bakery assets.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sites as designated by City management.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and customer employees.
- Monitor and update the Mercury system including live job updates.

- To undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as may be required.
- You will be part of a 1 in 4 standby on‑call rota.
Qualifications / Experience
NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical Installation / Maintenance (essential). City and Guilds 18th Edition (essential). AM2 / 2391 (essential).
- An additional £1,500 competency payment will be added to the base salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment. The training is provided by the employer during the probation period and includes two one‑week training blocks.
The Ideal Candidate
- Full driving licence.
- Experience using a PDA system.
- Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g., commercial catering/bakery.
- Carried out PPM and reactive maintenance within a similar retail environment.
