Process Technician (Bank)

Bank Process Technician – Sterile Services, Stoke HSSU Hub

Location: Stoke HSSU Hub, ST5 7UF. The role is not based at Clayton Nuffield Hospital.

Pay: £12.84 per hour + 20% weekend enhancement. The position is part‑time, primarily on weekends, with mid‑week shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, prepare, and sterilise medical instruments for theatre surgery.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order, checking for damage and reporting faults.
• Work collaboratively with a friendly team.
• Accept and complete training as required.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Take action to resolve problems and escalates issues when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policies and procedures.
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
• Apply strong attention to detail and commit to high quality service.

Qualifications & Skills

Basic general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. Good communication and organisational skills, with evidence of sterile services training preferred.

Working Hours & Pay

• Bank contract; not tied to a fixed number of hours per week.
• Weekend shifts primarily; mid‑week work can be offered.
• Hourly rate: £12.84 + 20% weekend enhancement.
