Location

Two opportunities for Product & Process Technicians in the Bio‑Resource department at the Upper Brighouse WwTW site. Applicants should live within reasonable commuting distance of Huddersfield or Halifax.

Work type

Permanent. 37 hours per week, 7‑day working pattern, 07:00‑19:00 on‑site cover. Weekends on rota for 24/7 operations and out‑of‑hours emergency cover. Compensatory rest days applied.

Where you fit in

As a Product & Process Technician you safely undertake operational and maintenance activities for wastewater treatment works. Daily tasks include routine operations, instrument calibration, basic maintenance checks and workload prioritisation. You will manage contractors, induct visitors and resolve hazards. You will use manual and IT‑based process data to optimise site performance and drive cost and energy efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Safely conduct operational and maintenance activities on the wastewater treatment site.• Perform daily routine manual and technical work tasks (operations, calibration, basic maintenance).• Prioritise workload and coordinate with team members.• Maintain a safe working environment, implement health and safety procedures.• Manage contractors and visitors, resolve hazards.• Analyse and optimise processes to improve cost, performance and energy generation.

What skills & qualifications you will need

  • Ability to learn technical processes and problem‑solve within complex wastewater treatment systems.
  • Experience with technical and manual tasks, preferably in an operational process‑based industry.
  • Capable of prioritising workload, taking ownership, and working in a team.
  • Comfortable with a wide range of IT systems.
  • Capacity to perform manual handling, work at heights, and deal with raw sewerage.
  • Work in confined spaces and pass strict medical criteria (BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, spirometry).
  • Full valid driving licence with no more than six points.
