The right candidate will have the opportunity to secure a permanent contract, with pay rate reflective of experience and skill level.
This is a hands‑on MIG welding and fabrication position covering both bespoke, one‑off projects and repeat batch production orders. The work is intricate and varied, requiring a high degree of skill, precision, and attention to detail throughout.
- MIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and fabricated assemblies to tight tolerances and high quality standards
- Working from detailed engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications across a range of component types
- Fabricating bespoke components and structures to customer requirements, including complex and technically demanding assemblies
- Producing repeat batch orders to consistent quality and dimensional standards, working efficiently to meet production schedules
- Fitting, tacking, and aligning components prior to full welding, ensuring accurate joint preparation and fit‑up throughout
- Operating angle grinders, hand tools, and power tools for material preparation, weld dressing, and finishing
- Conducting visual inspection of completed work, identifying and rectifying defects before sign‑off
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety requirements at all times
Requirements
- Proven MIG welding experience in a precision engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environment – essential
- Confident ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Experience across both bespoke and batch production work advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality, accurate work consistently
- Able to work independently and manage workload to meet deadlines
