Carpenter – Reactive Maintenance
Location: London (Covering Greater London)
Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our reactive maintenance team covering properties across London. This is a mobile role focused on carrying out responsive repair and maintenance works within residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate will be a skilled carpenter with a strong background in maintenance and repairs, delivering high‑quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive carpentry repairs and maintenance works.
- Repair, replace, and install internal and external doors, door frames and ironmongery, skirting boards and architraves, kitchen units and worktops, flooring and timber structures, locks and security fittings.
- Undertake first and second fix carpentry works.
- Complete associated minor maintenance tasks where required.
- Diagnose defects and provide effective repair solutions.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, residents, and clients.
- Complete job reports and updates using a mobile device.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter within reactive maintenance, repairs, or property maintenance.
- Strong first and second fix carpentry skills.
- Experience working in occupied residential properties.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent).
- Experience within social housing, housing associations, local authority, or facilities management contracts.
- Basic knowledge of other trades such as plumbing, tiling, or decorating.
