Machine Operator

Pay: £13.25/hr

Shifts Available: Mon‑Fri 6‑2 OR 2‑10 OR Rotating

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Machine Operator to join a busy production team. The successful candidate will operate production machinery to produce high‑quality products and follow standard operating procedures to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor production machinery according to work orders and SOPs
• Carry out routine machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting to maintain product quality and uptime
• Perform regular quality checks and record production data accurately
• Follow health, safety and hygiene procedures at all times
• Assist with machine changeovers, cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks
• Report faults and escalate technical issues to maintenance as required
• Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues

Skills and experience required

• Proven experience in the operation of production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
• Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn machine controls and processes quickly
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high‑quality work
• Basic numeracy and record‑keeping skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including safety procedures and work instructions
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing manual handling tasks as required
• Reliable, punctual and able to work shift patterns if needed

Desirable

• Previous experience with overhead cranes
• Experience with production paperwork and basic quality inspection tools
