Screening Case Support Officer
The Screening Case Support Officer works within the NMC’s Screening department as part of a small legal team. The role involves reviewing and processing fitness to practise referrals and related correspondence, ensuring the national registration database and case‑management systems are updated accurately and within set timescales. The officer assists with progressing cases through the Fitness to Practise process and provides administrative support to colleagues.
Location: London or Edinburgh. The role is flexible and may require moving between teams as the flow of work dictates.
Hybrid working: Two days per week in office; the remainder working from home.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming fitness to practise referrals and related correspondence efficiently.
- Update national registration database and case‑management systems accurately.
- Advancement tasks to progress cases through the Fitness to Practise process.
- Review and assess fitness to practise documents, including new referrals.
- Provide a customer‑focused service in line with NMC customer service standards.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders to manage workload.
- Work with sensitive and distressing material relating to fitness to practise cases, receiving appropriate support.
Requirements
- Experience in a legal/administrative role dealing with regulatory or compliance matters is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt to flexible working arrangements.
