What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of looked after children and care leavers, ensuring statutory visits, reviews, and care planning responsibilities are met in line with legislation
  • Develop, implement and review care plans, pathway plans and permanency plans in accordance with the Children Act 1989/2004
  • Undertake assessments of need and risk, ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified and appropriately addressed
  • Work directly with children, young people, and families to promote stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes
  • Support care leavers in their transition to independence, including accommodation, education, employment, and life skills development

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with evidence of ongoing professional development

Registration and Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, the Leaving Care Act 2000, and relevant statutory guidance
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks and corporate parenting responsibilities
