Teaching Personnel is recruiting autism inclusion assistants for a specialist school setting in Horsham. What you’ll be doing
- Providing consistent, high-quality 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism spectrum conditions (ASC), tailoring your approach to each pupil’s individual needs, communication style and learning profile.
- Implementing support strategies in line with individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), tracking progress and contributing to regular reviews.
- Supporting communication through approaches such as Makaton, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and other augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
- Creating and maintaining calm, structured and predictable environments that help pupils manage anxiety and feel safe enough to learn and grow.
- Supporting sensory regulation, transitions and changes in routine with patience, creativity and professional skill.
- Working as a valued member of a multi‑disciplinary team alongside specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
- Maintaining accurate records and upholding safeguarding and confidentiality procedures at all times.
