Social Worker

We are recruiting a full‑time experienced Social Worker for the Adult Social Care team within Rochdale Borough Council. The role focuses on statutory priorities under the Care Act 2014, including strength‑based needs assessments, commissioning with the brokerage team, mental capacity assessments, safeguarding enquiries, court work, and complex case management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct strength‑based needs assessments for adults under the Care Act 2014.
• Work with the brokerage team to commission appropriate services.
• Complete mental capacity assessments.
• Perform statutory safeguarding enquiries as required.
• Handle court work and complex cases.
• Travel as required; a casual car user allowance will be paid.
• Work up to 7 days a week as service needs dictate.

Essential Professional Requirements

• Qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in local authority statutory adult social care – placement or employment desirable.
• Post requires an experienced social worker; not suitable for ASYE.
• Proficiency in spoken English (Section 7 of Immigration Act 2016).
• Subject to enhanced DBS, including a barred list check against the adult workforce.
