Personal Assistant – Clovenfords (near Galashiels) – 3000

I am seeking a caregiver to support a 29‑year‑old person with cerebral palsy in a home located in Clovenfords. The role involves personal care, assistance with daily tasks, and participation in social activities.

Shift Schedule

Tuesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Wednesdays from 9 am to 12/1 pm, Thursdays from 5 pm to 9 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 pm to 9 pm and then 9 pm to 9 am (sleepover). Other shifts may arise for holidays or additional hours.

Rates of Pay and Entitlements

£14.35 for day hours and £11.44 for sleepovers. 5.6 weeks annual leave calculated on a pro‑rata basis.

• Activities and social inclusion – clubs, outings, events and family and friends
• Supportive help – personal care, eating and drinking along with meal prep
• Home activities – reading, art, music, walks, games, creative and reflective practice, professional/personal development in house and external professionals
• Therapies – physio, hydro and speech therapy
• Moving and handling – use of a hoist
• Hygiene – everyday household jobs and equipment cleaning
• Communication – keeping team notes and attending team meetings along with keeping in touch with family
• Medication – assisting with medication and liaising with other health care professionals

Candidate Requirements

• Good standard of education
• Clean driving licence
• Reliable, fun, calm, kind and physically fit
• Position is subject to satisfactory PVG checks
• There will be a probationary period of 6 months in this post
