Role
Community Engagement Officer to join our team at Redbridge Talking Therapies. This permanent role, salary Band 4 (£28,392 – £31,157) based on 37.5 hours per week, supports mental health promotion through community education and engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing access to evidence-based psychological interventions and fostering meaningful community relationships.

Responsibilities
- Organising and facilitating large psycho-educational groups in diverse community settings to ensure broad access to mental health resources.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations and stakeholders through promotional and outreach activities.
- Contributing to the service’s access targets by increasing community awareness and participation in mental health programmes.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Demonstrated alignment with the Trust’s values: kindness, respect, and collaboration with communities.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
- A degree in psychology with graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, or a diploma/degree in marketing, communications, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience in an administrative role requiring effective communication with members of the public.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, either in the community or within an inpatient multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience, either paid or voluntary, in supporting individuals experiencing common mental health challenges.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
