Library & Digital Support Officer

Salary: £26,403 – £28,142 pro rata

Working arrangements: On‑site working

Hours per week: 1 × 21 hours / 1 × 23 hours

Contract type: Permanent

The successful candidate must speak English to an appropriate standard and must be able to start with the necessary legal documents such as a valid visa. This post requires an Enhanced DBS Check. Overseas applicants must obtain the required overseas criminal record checks.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the public face of the library service, assisting customers with book selections, digital services, and general inquiries.
  • Support customers in using digital resources and technology, providing guidance to get them up and running.
  • Plan, coordinate and run interactive activities such as craft workshops, story and rhyme sessions for all ages.
  • Collaborate with partners across the authority (Communities, Public Health, Schools) to deliver projects and community outreach.
  • Occasionally undertake customer‑service appointments on behalf of other departments.
  • Maintain a flexible presence across all libraries, attending where required beyond the base library.
  • Work in a rotating two‑week fixed rota pattern, adjusting to varying schedules at Royston Library and Goldthorpe Library.
