Job Overview

Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust seeks a Specialist Inclusion Officer to support the strategic and operational delivery of high-quality inclusive practice across the Trust. The role will coordinate, develop, and strengthen provision for pupils with SEND, working centrally across multiple settings with SENDCos, school leaders, and central colleagues to ensure consistency, compliance and effective practice.

Key Responsibilities

The postholder will:

  • Co‑ordinate and enhance SEND provision across the Trust.
  • Connect systems and improve information flow to support schools in delivering impactful inclusive provision.
  • Shape and refine practices and systems in response to emerging priorities.
  • Facilitate collaboration among central and school‑based staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience supporting pupils with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs such as ASD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
  • Experience using technology to advance pupils’ learning.
  • Good understanding of SEND law and inclusive practice within schools.

Location: Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, Waterloo Road, Smethwick, West Midlands B66 4ND

Salary: Band E SCP 18–25 £31,537 – £36,363 per annum pro rata (Actual salary £28,100 – £32,866 per annum)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week

Contract: Permanent
