We are seeking an organised, friendly and proactive School Administrator to join a thriving school in Burnley from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in providing outstanding support to staff, pupils, parents and visitors.

As the first point of contact for the school, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office while delivering a professional and welcoming service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the school’s reception area and welcoming visitors
  • Answering and directing telephone calls and email enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and administrative systems
  • Supporting attendance monitoring and reporting
  • Processing admissions, student information and general correspondence
  • Producing letters, reports and other documentation
  • Assisting with safeguarding and compliance administration
  • Liaising with parents, staff, external agencies and suppliers
  • Supporting school events and activities when required
  • General office administration and data entry duties

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or education setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • A professional, positive and approachable manner
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of school systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
