Clinical Negligence Legal Secretary

Location: Sheffield (flexible and hybrid working)

Salary: £26,000 to £32,000

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary (ideally within Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, or a related litigation area)

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Clinical Negligence Legal Secretary to join a highly regarded Clinical Negligence department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a capable, proactive legal support professional who enjoys working in a specialist, fast‑paced team and takes pride in delivering excellent client care and high‑quality work.

You will play a key role supporting the Head of Department and the wider team of fee earners on a varied and complex caseload of clinical negligence matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • High‑quality secretarial and administrative support, including audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
  • Diary management, scheduling appointments, and supporting file opening and closing procedures
  • Producing and preparing court documents and electronic bundles
  • Liaising with clients and professionals via telephone and email
  • Supporting forms and case management processes, including invoicing and billing
  • Assisting with audit preparation for Legal Aid and ATE providers

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a legal secretary, ideally within Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, or a related litigation area
  • Experience working with an electronic case management system (working knowledge of Partner for Windows would be an advantage)
  • Strong understanding of clinical negligence case funding (ATE/BTE)
  • Knowledge of Legal Aid funding and CCMS would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and professional approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills
