Pharmacy Support Worker Higher Level – Dispensary
NVQ2 qualification in pharmacy services is required
This role is part of the Medicines Management Service at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. You will work within our purpose‑built pharmacy department at Maghull Health Park and support the in‑house Pharmacy at Hollins Park Hospital in Warrington.
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated individuals to join our team. The role involves dispensing various types of prescriptions, including controlled drugs and clozapine, and using our new automated robotic dispensing systems.
Main duties include dispensing medicines, responding to dispensary supply queries, preparing for medicines deliveries, participating in a seven‑day medicines supply service, and following trust policies and standard operating procedures.
Job responsibilities
To work in accordance with trust policies, procedures & standard operating procedures as appropriate.
To accurately and efficiently order and supply stock and named‑patient dispensed medicines, including supply of compliance aids and patient information leaflets.
To follow up any outstanding orders for wards, clinics and service users on a daily basis in line with standard operation procedures.
To follow up any outstanding items on supplier orders on a daily basis and upscale appropriately.
To be involved in the supply of clozapine to service users, including dispensing clozapine, liaising with patients, the clozapine monitoring service, and clinical team regarding appropriate supply of clozapine, receiving clozapine blood results, issuing medication, and organising updates of prescriptions.
