Job Description:

Allstaff Manufacturing Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Production Technician based with our manufacturing client in Whiteinch, Glasgow. This is a Full‑time permanent position and salary will be based upon experience. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm or 9:00am–5:00pm. The Production Technician will play a pivotal role within the design team of the business to ensure product compliance with the required technical specification and link the required product solution and the “fine detail” to each aperture on the building. An eye for detail and an ability to develop a clear understanding of the customers’ requirements is key to success. Projects will be primarily residential and will range in size from small scale single properties (approximately 5 homes) to large scale multi‑storey, multi‑phase developments with 500 homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to design meetings with clients, architects and contractors to provide technical support.
  • Leasing with customers, architects and project managers to ensure all installation and manufacturing details are understood.
  • Ensure the correct technical submissions and supporting data are issued.
  • Build and develop product schedules in MSExcel that fully incorporate product specifications and drawings and capture the client’s requirements for client sign‑off.
  • Understand and integrate information provided by the structural engineer into the product schedule.
  • Produce manufacturing information and take‑offs for production.
  • Produce take‑offs for subcontract manufacture of components.
  • Share technical knowledge to reduce costs and delays while ensuring the most effective design methods and concepts.
  • Apply value engineering to keep contacts on budget.

Requirements

  • Strong communicator in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of numeracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, confident using formulas and manipulating large amounts of data within Excel and using multiple inboxes within Outlook.
  • Experience with qualifications in higher education in Math’s/Technical subjects.
  • Ability to interpret, work with and effectively communicate information taken from technical drawings, specifications, building standards/regulations and other documentation.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate at all levels externally or internally.
  • Strong organisation and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstratable experience of working to deadlines.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD (or similar) is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of warranty providers such as NHBC and Premier.
