Semi Skilled Operator

Role Profile

The role of the Semi‑Skilled Operator involves fitting, maintaining, and repairing aircraft engine components. The position works hands‑on and supports other key business areas across the site, delivering high quality standards efficiently.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site
• Manually fit parts to required customer and aircraft standards, including inspecting braze joints
• Undertake semi‑skilled fitting operations within the business
• Check components for conformity using tooling and other measuring devices
• Maintain machinery, jigs and fixtures to ensure a clean, safe and healthy working environment
• Offer improvements to inspection methods and develop best‑practice techniques
• Check parts for accurate measurements and finish pieces where necessary
• Share knowledge and experience, and support coaching and mentoring of new employees and apprentices
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across shop operations (e.g., lean manufacturing, 6S, cost reductions, housekeeping)
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions
• Work variable shifts

Person Specification

• Ability to use measuring equipment and inspection fixtures to ensure component conformity to drawing requirements
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a teaming environment and on own initiative
• Willingness to learn new methods, processes and techniques
• Commitment to implementing business improvement initiatives
• Willingness to be flexible across different areas of the business
